Remember that left hand threads run backwards: these tighten counterclockwise and loosen clockwise. Start each nut by hand with a 7/8" socket, tighten in a star pattern to the spec in our torque reference chart, and re-torque after 50 to 100 miles.
Common questions
What does LH mean on a lug nut?
LH is left hand thread. The nut tightens counterclockwise, the opposite of standard hardware. A number of older GM and Chrysler vehicles used left hand studs on one side of the car or truck, and only an LH nut will thread onto those studs.
How do I know if my studs are left hand?
Check your existing hardware. If the old nut comes off when turned clockwise, the stud is left hand and this is the correct nut. If it comes off counterclockwise like normal hardware, order the standard 1/2"-20 version instead.
