Mercedes spacer fitment guide & common questions
C-Class 1994–2007, US E-Class 1994–2002, CLK-Class 1998–2009, SLK-Class 1998–2011 (R170 and R171), US SL-Class 1994–2002, 190E 1984–1993, 300D 1975–1993, 300E 1986–1993, 500SL 1990–1993 and 560SL 1986–1989 wheel spacers: 5x112, 12x1.5 thread, 66.6mm hub
These Mercedes use 5x112 with 12x1.5 lug bolts and a 66.6mm hub: the C-Class 1994–2007, US E-Class 1994–2002, CLK-Class 1998–2009, SLK-Class 1998–2011 (R170 and R171), US SL-Class 1994–2002, 190E 1984–1993, 300D 1975–1993, 300E 1986–1993, 500SL 1990–1993 and 560SL 1986–1989. Fit the 5x112 hub centric Mercedes pair (66.56mm bore, 12x1.5 studs, 1" or 1.5"), whose listing is for Mercedes factory wheels and a factory hub no taller than 20mm, measured with the diagram on its listing. These cars have no wheel studs. Bolt-on spacers do not include lug bolts: the pair mounts to the hub with hub-side lug bolts in the vehicle's required thread and the pair's required seat, bought separately. Those hub-side bolts must reach full thread engagement in the hub, with their heads fully recessed below the pair's wheel-side face so the wheel seats flush. The wheel then mounts on the pair's studs with lug nuts that match both its stud thread and your wheels' seat.
C-Class 2008–2026, E-Class 2004–2026, S-Class 1992–2022 (not the European-market 2010 S 300), ML-Class 1998–2015, GL-Class 2007–2016, GLC 2016–2022 and the other 14x1.5 Mercedes: 5x112, 14x1.5 thread, 66.6mm hub
These Mercedes use the same 5x112 pattern and 66.6mm hub with a 14x1.5 thread and lug bolts: C-Class 2008–2026, E-Class 2004–2026, S-Class 1992–2022 (not the European-market 2010 S 300), CL-Class 1998–2014, CLS-Class 2006–2023, SL-Class 2003–2020, SLK-Class 2012–2016, SLC-Class 2017–2020, ML-Class 1998–2015, GL-Class 2007–2016, GLK 2010–2015, R-Class 2006–2013, GLA 2015–2022, GLB 2020–2022, GLC 2016–2022, CLA 2014–2023, A-Class 2019–2022, AMG GT 2016–2023, SLS AMG 2011–2015, Metris 2016–2023, EQB 2022–2026, EQE sedan 2023–2026 and EQS sedan 2022–2026. The 12x1.5 hub centric bolt-on pair does not match their thread, and no 5x112 bolt-on pair on this page carries 14x1.5 studs, so this page has no bolt-on pair matched to them. Later years of the GLA, GLB, GLC, S-Class, CLA and AMG GT are not yet confirmed by an outside source.
The slip-on pairs on this page are made for the Mercedes 5x112 pattern, and their listings do not state the bore, so measure your hub and check your car against each listing before ordering one. A slip-on takes its own thickness out of the thread engagement, so use longer lug bolts in your vehicle's thread and your wheel's seat, long enough for the thread engagement required by the vehicle, wheel and fastener manufacturers at the spacer thickness you choose, and check that they do not contact brake or other components. By thickness:
- 10mm pair: bore not stated (measure your hub and check the listing before ordering); for a factory hub no taller than 8mm; rear axle only on certain models.
- 15mm pair: bore not stated (measure your hub and check the listing before ordering); for a factory hub no taller than 10mm; rear axle only on certain models.
- 20mm pair: bore not stated (measure your hub and check the listing before ordering); for a factory hub no taller than 12.5mm; rear axle only on certain models.
- 10mm and 15mm capped pairs: bore not stated (measure your hub and check the listing before ordering); front axle only, for the Mercedes models their listings name.
- 5mm and 10mm flat pairs: sold for the 5x112 pattern; their listings do not state the bore, so measure your hub and check the listing before ordering. Both are flat: a flat spacer centers itself on the hub; the wheel still needs enough factory hub pilot beyond the spacer to engage its center bore.
Sprinter 2500 2010–2022 and Sprinter 1500 2019–2022 wheel spacers: 6x130, 14x1.5 thread, 84.1mm hub
The Sprinter 2500 2010–2022 and Sprinter 1500 2019–2022 use 6x130 with a 14x1.5 thread and an 84.1mm hub. Fit the 6x130 Sprinter bolt-on pair (84.1mm bore, 14x1.5 studs, 1.5"), listed for the Sprinter van. The Sprinter 1500 2019–2022 holds its wheels with lug bolts. On a Sprinter 2500 2010–2022, check what your van uses before buying hub-side hardware. Model years 2023–2026 are not yet confirmed by an outside source. For a different wheel pattern, see wheel adapters.
How to choose a Mercedes spacer: slip-on or bolt-on, thread, hub height and thickness
Slip-on spacers slide over existing wheel studs like a thick washer, ideal for thin adjustments. Bolt-on spacers bolt directly to factory studs using separate hardware and feature their own integrated studs to mount the wheel, ideal for wider setups. Hub centric is an attribute of both types: the 5x112 bolt-on pair's 66.56mm bore is machined to the Mercedes hub, so the hub, not the studs, centers it.
- Thread: 12x1.5 on the C-Class 1994–2007, US E-Class 1994–2002, CLK-Class 1998–2009, SLK-Class 1998–2011 (R170 and R171), US SL-Class 1994–2002, 190E 1984–1993, 300D 1975–1993, 300E 1986–1993, 500SL 1990–1993 and 560SL 1986–1989; 14x1.5 on the Mercedes in the second section (not the European-market 2010 S 300) and the Sprinter. A bolt-on pair's studs must carry your vehicle's thread. On a hub with wheel studs, lug nuts in your vehicle's stud thread and the pair's required seat clamp the pair to the hub (your own nuts only if they meet both); on a hub with lug bolts, the hub-side bolts are bought separately in your car's thread and the pair's required seat, because bolt-on spacers do not include lug bolts. The wheel then mounts on the pair's studs with lug nuts that match both the pair's stud thread and your wheels' seat (check whether the listing includes nuts).
- Hub height: measure it with the diagram on the listing before ordering. If your Mercedes is not named above, measure your bolt pattern as well.
- Thickness available: bolt-on 1" or 1.5" (5x112 hub centric pair, for Mercedes factory wheels and a factory hub no taller than 20mm) and 1.5" (6x130 Sprinter pair), each mounted on a Mercedes with lug bolts using hub-side lug bolts in your car's thread and the pair's required seat, bought separately; slip-on 5mm to 20mm. Start with the thinnest that clears. The wheel must seat flush on any pair: on a lug-bolt hub the hub-side bolt heads must sit fully recessed below the pair's wheel-side face; on a studded hub, factory studs that stand proud of a thin bolt-on pair's face and stop the wheel seating flush need shortening; never shorten the studs on a slip-on.
- Torque: torque to Mercedes-Benz's specification for your model and check the bolts again after the first 50 to 100 miles.
Common questions
Which spacers fit a Mercedes C-Class? C-Class 1994–2007: the 5x112 hub centric Mercedes pair (66.56mm bore, 12x1.5 studs), for Mercedes factory wheels and a factory hub no taller than 20mm, with hub-side lug bolts in 12x1.5 and the pair's required seat, bought separately, long enough for full thread engagement in the hub and with heads fully recessed below the pair's wheel-side face. C-Class 2008–2026: 14x1.5 thread; no 5x112 bolt-on pair on this page is matched to it.
Which spacers fit a Mercedes E-Class? US E-Class 1994–2002: the 5x112 hub centric Mercedes pair (66.56mm bore, 12x1.5 studs), for Mercedes factory wheels and a factory hub no taller than 20mm, with hub-side lug bolts in 12x1.5 and the pair's required seat, bought separately, long enough for full thread engagement in the hub and with heads fully recessed below the pair's wheel-side face. E-Class 2004–2026: 14x1.5 thread; no 5x112 bolt-on pair on this page is matched to it.
Do I need longer lug bolts with a slip-on spacer? On a Mercedes with lug bolts, yes: a slip-on takes its own thickness out of the thread engagement in the hub, so use longer lug bolts in your vehicle's thread and your wheel's seat, long enough for the thread engagement required by the vehicle, wheel and fastener manufacturers at the spacer thickness you choose, and check that they do not contact brake or other components.
Do bolt-on Mercedes spacers come with lug bolts? No. Bolt-on spacers never include lug bolts. On a Mercedes with lug bolts, the pair fastens to the hub with bolts you buy separately in your car's thread and the pair's required seat, long enough for full thread engagement in the hub and with their heads fully recessed below the pair's wheel-side face so the wheel seats flush; the wheel then mounts on the pair's studs with lug nuts that match both the pair's stud thread and your wheels' seat (check whether the listing includes nuts).
