Press the key all the way into the nut before turning so every spline shares the load, and back off if you feel it start to slip rather than powering through. When you tighten lug nuts through the key, follow the spec in our torque reference chart and re-torque after 50 to 100 miles.

Common questions

How is this different from a duplex key?
They open different lug nut designs. This key drives spline tuner lug nuts with a 7 point head, while duplex lug nuts take their own key, so the two are not interchangeable even when they look similar.

I lost my original key. Will this replace it?
It will if your lug nuts are the 7 spline tuner nuts we sell. For spline nuts bought elsewhere we cannot guarantee fit, because spline profiles differ between manufacturers. Count seven grooves in the nut head before ordering.
