Lug Bolts
Wheel Lug Bolts
Many European vehicles fasten wheels with lug bolts that thread into the hub instead of nuts on studs. The three specs that matter: thread size, seat type, and shank length. Stocked in 12x1.25, 12x1.5, 12x1.75, 14x1.25, 14x1.5, 15x1.25, 16x1.5, 1/2".
Browse lug bolts: conical seat, ball seat, spline drive, black finish, tuner seat and lock sets.
Shop by thread size: 14x1.5 lug bolts, 12x1.5 lug bolts, 14x1.25 lug bolts and 12x1.25 lug bolts.
Choosing the right lug bolt
Match all three specs to your vehicle: thread (12x1.25 up to 16x1.5 stocked), seat (conical taper or radius ball; tuner-style bolts use a small key-driven head, usually on a conical seat), and shank length, which changes with spacers or different wheels. Running a spacer? Add its thickness to your stock shank length.
Common questions
Conical or ball seat, how do I tell? Look at your current bolt where it meets the wheel: a straight taper is conical, a rounded curve is ball seat. Mixing them will not seat correctly and can loosen.
What shank length do I need with spacers? Stock shank length plus the spacer thickness. A 40mm bolt with a 15mm spacer becomes 55mm, keeping full thread engagement in the hub.
Which vehicles use lug bolts? Commonly BMW, Mercedes, Audi, VW and Porsche among others. Always verify your thread and seat before ordering.
Our torque reference chart lists specs by size, and the wheel fitment guide shows how to verify yours.
