**If the hub studs protrude outside the adapter and prevent the wheels to sit flush on the adapter plates, it is required to shorten the factory studs. It happens most often on 1" thick adapters.

Clean the hub face so the adapter seats completely flat, then torque the adapter to the hub and the wheel to the adapter per our torque reference chart. Re-torque all hardware after the first 50 to 100 miles of driving.

Are wheel adapters safe?
Yes, when installed correctly. Both mounting faces need to sit flat and clean, all hardware torqued to spec with full thread engagement on every stud, and a re-torque after the first 50 to 100 miles.
Do I need to modify my factory studs?
Only if they stick out past the adapter face and stop the wheel from sitting flush. In that case the factory studs need to be shortened, which comes up most often with 1" thick adapters.
