Clean the hub face, bolt each adapter to your 5x4.5 hub, and torque that hardware to spec before mounting the 6x5.5 wheel on the new studs. Use our torque reference chart for the correct values, and re-torque both the adapter and wheel hardware after 50 to 100 miles.
Common questions
Are wheel adapters safe?
Yes, when installed correctly. The adapter has to sit flat against a clean hub, every fastener torqued to spec with full thread engagement on the studs, then re-torqued after the first 50 to 100 miles. Problems come from skipped steps, not from a properly mounted adapter.
Why does hub centric matter?
A hub centric adapter locates on the hub itself instead of hanging its weight on the studs, so the wheel spins true. That snug fit on both the vehicle side and the wheel side is what keeps vibration out of your steering wheel.
