Hand start each nut so the threads engage straight, then tighten in a star pattern and torque to your vehicle's spec. The torque reference chart covers common values by thread size. Re-torque after 50 to 100 miles of driving, since lug hardware can settle once the wheel is under load.
Common questions
Does an open end nut install any differently?
No. It tightens like any tapered seat lug nut: hand start, star pattern, torque wrench to spec. The open end simply lets the stud pass through, so stud length is never a problem the way it can be with a capped nut.
How do I know the seat will match my wheels?
Acorn nuts use a tapered seat, so your wheel's lug holes must be tapered as well. Tapered, mag, and ball seats are not interchangeable. Comparing against the lug nuts currently on the car is the quickest check.
