Start each nut by hand, then tighten in a star pattern with a torque wrench set to your vehicle's spec; our torque reference chart lists common values by stud size. The open end makes it easy to see that the stud is fully engaged through the nut. Re-torque after 50 to 100 miles.
Common questions
What does open end mean?
There is no closed cap on top, so the stud can pass all the way through the nut. That makes open-end nuts a practical choice when studs are longer than a closed acorn would allow, and it lets you visually confirm full thread engagement.
Will these seat correctly in my wheels?
Bulge acorn nuts use a tapered seat with a wider base profile. They fit wheels drilled for tapered acorn hardware; mag and ball seat wheels require different nuts, since seat types are not interchangeable.
