Quick answer: 2004 to current F-150s use the 6x135 bolt pattern, 1997-2003 trucks use 5x135, and 1975-1996 trucks use 5x5.5 (5x139.7). The adapters below bolt to each of those hub patterns so you can run wheels in a different pattern, including hub centric options for the most popular swaps. Model year 2004 splits between the F-150 Heritage (5x135) and the new body style (6x135), and some 2000-2014 trucks with the Heavy Duty Payload Package use 7x150, so verify your pattern before ordering.

Ford F-150 bolt pattern by year & common questions
  • 1975-1996 F-150: 5x5.5 (5x139.7) bolt pattern. Adapters in this collection fit. Note the large 108mm hub on these trucks; check the adapter bore before ordering.
  • 1997-2003 F-150: 5x135 bolt pattern. Adapters in this collection fit.
  • 2004 F-150 Heritage (old body style): 5x135 bolt pattern. Adapters in this collection fit.
  • 2004-2014 F-150 (new body style): 6x135 bolt pattern. Adapters in this collection fit. Trucks with the Heavy Duty Payload Package use 7x150 instead; see below.
  • 2015-2026 F-150, including Raptor and Lightning: 6x135 bolt pattern. Adapters in this collection fit.
  • 2000-2014 F-150 with Heavy Duty Payload Package (7-lug): 7x150 bolt pattern. Standard 5x135/6x135 adapters do not fit these trucks; use the 7x150 to 6x135 adapter in this collection instead.

Depending on which hub pattern your truck has, these adapters convert to 5x4.5, 5x4.75, 5x5, 5x5.5, 5x112, 5x120, 5x135, 5x150, 6x4.5, 6x5, 6x5.5, 6x135, 8x6.5, 8x170, and 8x180 wheels. Always verify your bolt pattern, hub bore, and clearance before ordering.

Can I run 6 lug F-150 wheels on my 1997-2003 F-150? Yes. A 5x135 to 6x135 adapter lets a 5 lug 1997-2003 truck run 2004 and newer 6 lug F-150 wheels, and the hub centric version keeps the wheel centered on the adapter. The reverse swap works with a 6x135 to 5x135 adapter.

What bolt pattern is a 2004 F-150? It depends on the body style. The 2004 F-150 Heritage carried over the 5x135 pattern, while the redesigned 2004 F-150 moved to 6x135. Check which truck you have before choosing an adapter.

Will Chevy or GM 6 lug wheels fit my F-150? Not directly. GM 6 lug trucks use 6x5.5 (6x139.7), so a 2004 and newer F-150 needs a 6x135 to 6x5.5 adapter from this collection. Verify stud engagement and fender clearance before driving.
