These wheel adapters bolt directly to your Nissan Frontier's factory 6-lug hub and give you a new mounting face, letting you run wheels your truck was never drilled for, push the wheels outward for a wider, more planted stance, and clear larger tires. Whether you want an aggressive fitment or a specific wheel that doesn't match your stock pattern, adapters make it bolt-on. Confirm your exact model year and trim before ordering, because the Frontier used two different 6-lug patterns across its generations.

Nissan Frontier bolt pattern by year

  • 1998–2004 (D22, first-gen 6-lug): 6x5.5" (139.7mm), fits these adapters
  • 2005–2021 (D40, second-gen): 6x4.5" (114.3mm), fits these adapters
  • 2022–present (D41, third-gen): 6x4.5" (114.3mm), fits these adapters

The real fitment check is the pattern itself, not the year on the title, count your six lugs and measure the bolt circle to confirm. Watch out for the trap on this truck: the Frontier switched from 6x5.5" on the early D22 to 6x4.5" from 2005 onward, so an early model and a later one take completely different adapters.

Common questions

What bolt pattern does the Nissan Frontier use?
It depends on the year. First-generation D22 trucks (1998–2004) use a 6x5.5" (139.7mm) 6-lug pattern, while every Frontier from 2005 onward, the D40 (2005–2021) and D41 (2022–present), uses 6x4.5" (114.3mm).

Did the bolt pattern change across model years?
Yes. The Frontier changed from 6x5.5" on the early D22 to 6x4.5" starting with the 2005 redesign, and it has stayed 6x4.5" since. That's why you need to verify your specific year and count your lugs before choosing an adapter, assuming the wrong pattern is the most common mistake on this truck.
