These slip over your existing studs, so stud length is the main thing to check. Use the thread engagement required by the vehicle, wheel and fastener manufacturers; do not rely on a single turn count for every thread size. Fit suitable longer studs if needed, confirm the wheel and spacer seat flush, and check that closed-end lug nuts do not bottom out. Torque to your vehicle's spec using the torque reference chart, then re-torque after the first 50 to 100 miles of driving.
Common questions
Will these work with both 5x4.5 and 5x5 wheels?
Yes. They are made for 5-lug bolt patterns from 4 1/2 inches through 5 inches, so any pattern in that range is covered as long as your wheel and hub share the same pattern. A flat spacer does not convert one bolt pattern to another.
Do I need longer studs?
Not always, but you need enough thread left. If the studs cannot give the thread engagement required by the vehicle, wheel and fastener manufacturers with the spacer installed, fit suitable longer studs before driving on them.
