Run each nut down by hand and make sure it turns at least seven times before it snugs up, since full thread engagement is what secures the wheel. Tighten in a star pattern with a 13/16" socket, torque to spec using our torque reference chart, and re-torque after 50 to 100 miles. A periodic torque check after that keeps the set secure.
Common questions
Are washer style and conical lug nuts interchangeable?
No. The built-in washer on these clamps flat against the wheel, while a conical nut wedges into a tapered hole. Each wheel is machined for one seat style, and mixing styles puts the load on the wrong surface.
Will the black finish hold up during installation?
These are steel nuts with a black finish. Use a properly fitting 13/16" socket rather than a loose one, which keeps the socket from chewing the corners and finish, and wipe the threads clean before installing.
