Start each nut by hand to protect the threads, then run it down with the included socket key in a crisscross pattern. Set final torque to your machine's spec, using our torque reference chart as a guide, and re-torque after 50 to 100 miles.
Common questions
How can I confirm my studs are 12x1.5?
The first number is the stud diameter in millimeters and the second is the thread pitch. Your owner's manual lists it, or you can take a stock lug nut to a thread gauge and match it there.
What tool do these take on and off?
The included socket key. Spike nuts do not accept a regular hex socket, so the key slides over the nut and lets a standard ratchet or lug wrench do the work. Store it with the machine so removal on the trail is not a problem.
