**If the hub studs protrude outside the adapter and prevent the wheels to sit flush on the adapter plates, it is required to shorten the factory studs. It happens most often on 1" thick adapters.

Yes, when installed correctly. The adapter must sit flat against the hub face, every nut torqued to spec, and every stud needs full thread engagement. Re-torque after the first 50 to 100 miles and check periodically after that.

Do I need to shorten my factory studs?
Only if they stick out past the adapter face and keep the wheel from sitting flush against the plate. This comes up most often with 1 inch thick adapters, and trimming the factory studs to sit below the face resolves it.
